Each month has 30 days, with a year having
360 days. Each day is 24
hours.
This is the Unified Calendar used throughout most of the civilized
continent. It was first developed by the gnomes (the month names are
gnomish) and used for trade and agricultural season reference, and
therefore caught on with ease among the other races.
Note that while almost all common humanoid races are familiar with this
system, many still maintain their own calendars, often making
cross-cultural references complicated.

NOTE ON YEARS: Currently the system of dating initiated by the humans is
the “Unification Year” calendar (or “Cerythian Calendar”, as
most other races refer to it). It is based on the date of the merging of
the Four Kingdoms of humans after the Black War. Dates are now referred to
as “UY” for post-unification events, or with a negative number for pre-
Unification events.
(i.e., something that occurred in –125 happened 150 years before something
in UY 25.) |

Unfortunately, with the number of different systems in use by humans
before the universal calendar, and the systems used by other races still,
it is often an arduous and complicated process to study history in
Penderyn. Modern scholars should be sure they are studying from sources
whose dates are known to be accurately converted, or should be well
familiar with the native calendar they are working from.
The Scribes’ Guilds in every major human city in the Kingdom are
constantly at work converting and updating historical and scholarly texts
to reflect the current calendar in the modern editions of the works. Some
of the other races’ bookkeepers are not so motivated.
